TOMORROW'S HOPE orphanage, TH for short is a non-governmental structure in Ivory Coast in the city of Daloa, more precisely in Gogoguhe district. TH provides care for orphans, abandoned and abused children from age 0 to 8. TH was founded by Mrs Carine Zaha in 2013.

Mission and vision

Tomorrow’s Hope Orphanage’s mission is to rescue orphans, abandoned and/or abused children and take care of them. In most cases, these children are in a very advanced state of precariousness because parents, who in some cases are seriously ill with HIV/AIDS, are unable to take care of them. We accept these children and provide for their basic needs such as accommodation, food, medical care, clothing, education and emotional needs in order to enable them to develop and insert society. We give them hope for tomorrow, this is the very meaning of the name of our orphanage.

One example among many, a child who joined TH

Joseph is the name we gave him when he arrived. His mother did not want him and left him with a lady. The lady alerted social services who contacted us to place him in our institution. Joseph was malnourished and showed signs of marasmus and kwashiorkor.
Today, Joseph is 8 years old, he is in year 5 and is top of his class with school results that vary between 9 and 10 out of 10.

Our vision is to accommodate 2000 children in the long term unfortunately our current building can only take 35 residents which is really far from our ambitions and current needs.

Why Tomorrow’s Hope in Ivory Coast precisely in the city of Daloa

Our move to this city is mainly due to the glaring lack of orphanages in the region. This work thus supports the government in its policy of decentralisation of aid and solidarity for families, women and children.

Collaboration

TH team always works in collaboration with local authorities in Daloa, our supervisory Ministry, the Supervisory Judge for children as well as with members of the community. TH gives priority to the most needy cases without discrimination of ethnicity or religious affiliation. In addition to that, TH agents carry out field investigations into cases of lost children in order to find their families.

Education

TH is committed to educating children from nursery until the end of their studies. Then, depending on the child's skills, we direct them towards vocational training or further studies.

Health

TH has a medical box. In terms of health, residents benefit from the presence of a part-time nurse.

Clothing and housing

Girls and boys are allocated different rooms so are babies and toddlers. Each child who joins Tomorrow’s Hope Orphanage receives free clothing and basic tools.

Our needs

a school, a health centre and a vocational training centre. A mini bus to take the kids to school, outings and in case of emergency.
We need clothing, shoes, food, cleaning products, sanitary, medication, school supplies and daily accommodation equipment such as beds, mattresses, bed sheets, bathroom towels, kitchen equipment, educational, sports, leisure equipment and holiday camps to go to during half terms etc…
