The Good Shepherd is an association of men and women who volunteer for orphaned children, it’s a registered organisation located in Bouaké in Ivory Coast. The vision of the Good Shepherd was received by Mr. Tano Yao Patrick who is its President.

Our mission

The Good Shepherd is an apolitical, non-profit association for the protection and promotion of children's rights.

Our goals

- Contribute effectively to the harmonious and social development of orphans providing them with health, food, education, training and psychological care
- Strengthen the capacities of families who welcome these OVC in terms of child protection
- Open orphanages and reception centres for all these children with a view to bringing them together, training them and facilitating their social integration

Presentation of our Orphanage

The Good Shepherd orphanage opened its doors to residents since July 27, 2020 in Bouaké. The orphanage is on a 600 m3 site and includes 6 rooms, a play area, two terraces, a backyard, a garage, and a store which serves as a food reserve. We are located in Ivory Coast, city of Bouaké in the Air France 3 southern corridor district on the left. The orphanage has a capacity to accommodate 25 residents, the current number is 15 residents including 9 girls and 6 boys whose ages vary between 6 and 15 years old. All residents are educated from year 3 to year 9. One of our important projects was to open an orphanage, which is why we chose the city of Bouaké because the need was great in Bouaké. It is thanks to our main partner Hand an Hand fir Afrika from Luxembourg and people of good will that we were able to start this project.

Our needs

To ensure good care for children we need: - Food and non-food donations (rice, oil, sugar, food, soap, etc.)
- Donations of medicine (for Malaria, stomach aches, headaches, etc.)
- Donations of school supplies and clothing, shoes, etc.
- Cash donations for other expenses (water and electricity bill, school fees, for the vegetable market)
